Food
Stop Buying Water
I will stop buying water and instead use water from the tap or invest in a water filter if water quality is a concern.
Food
Make Your Own
I will try a new recipe or food preparation method, such as canning, pickling, making yogurt, or baking granola bars or bread.
Personal Care
Switch to plastic-free floss
I will switch to plastic-free floss in a reusable container.
Personal Care
Say no to “Flushable wipes”
Wipes don't break down in sewer systems, but create massive clogs. I will find alternatives to using disposable wipes.
At Home
Choose Natural Clothing Fibers
I will purchase clothing made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers like polyester, nylon, acrylic or spandex. Try prioritizing buying used clothing before buying new.
Personal Care
Purchase Alternative Toothpaste
I will purchase toothpaste powder or toothpaste tabs in plastic-free packaging.
Kids
Use a Glass or Metal Baby Bottle
I will replace 3 plastic bottles with glass or stainless steel alternatives.
Kids
Avoid balloons and plastic party favors
Opt for balloon alternatives and choose wood, paper, DIY crafts and snacks for party favors.
Food
Cook Meals with Zero Plastic Waste
I will prepare 3 meal(s) at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.
On-the-go
Recycle at Work
I will recycle my plastic containers at work, and if I can't find a recycling bin I'll bring the item home with me.

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow do you feel about being more involved in the food preparation process? Joyful, overwhelmed, engaged, empowered? What are the benefits of choosing to process or produce your own food instead of buying it pre-processed?
Shahzoda Ashurova 2/13/2026 1:59 PMTrying a new recipe was a fun and interesting experience for me. At first I felt a little unsure, but as I followed the steps, I became more confident. I learned that cooking takes patience and attention, and it felt really satisfying to see the final result that I made myself. This activity showed me that trying new things can help build confidence and new skills.
