I made my own pet scratcher by cutting and gluing and old cardboard box into strips and then a brick and we ditched the plastic circle we had been using.

  I made a cat toy from stuff I had lying around; Yardstick with hole in the end. Piece of jute string, paper handles from paper bags, old ribbon. Tied the paper handles and ribbon to the end of the string tied to the hole in the yardstick. It's a great cat toy and was totally free!!
