Pat's actions
At Home
Skip the Dryer Sheets
I will replace dryer sheets with a reusable alternative or use nothing at all.
At Home
Extend the Life of Electronics
Manufacturers want you to replace your phones every year. I will keep my phone for at least 3 years and make any necessary repairs or updates to keep it functioning as long as possible.
On-the-go
Visit a packaging-free store
I will visit a co-op or zero waste store to check out my local options for bulk products and plastic-free items.
At Home
WASH COLD, LINE DRY
I will wash my clothing in cold water and hang it to dry to reduce the amount of microplastic shedding and to prolong the life of my garments.
On-the-go
Use Reusable Water Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 1 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
On-the-go
Use A Reusable Mug or Cup
I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own collapsible cup.

Pat Burns 2/04/2026 9:32 AMI brought a reusable water bottle to a class. It’s such a habit for me to do this, it’s pretty much automatic for me now and it’s so easy. It’s hard to understand why more people don’t do this.
