I will avoid 3 plastic bags each shopping trip by not bagging my produce or using reusable produce bags.
I will give my pets toys made of natural materials like wool, hemp, or cotton, or make our own toys from repurposed items found in our home.
I will spend 5 minutes conducting a waste audit- including recyclables and compost- to understand how much plastic waste I create and where I can reduce the most.
I will replace single use diapers for reusable cloth diapers.
I will replace my disposable cleaning wipes with a reusable brush or cloth.
I will replace dryer sheets with a reusable alternative or use nothing at all.
I will wash my clothing in cold water and hang it to dry to reduce the amount of microplastic shedding and to prolong the life of my garments.
I will pick up 3 piece(s) of plastic litter each day and dispose of it responsibly.
I will try a new recipe or food preparation method, such as canning, pickling, making yogurt, or baking granola bars or bread.
I will read through the three emails each week to learn more about plastic and get ideas on how to use less.
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
