Brian's actions

Plastics 101

Stop "wishcycling"

Contamination makes the recycling process more difficult. I will review which materials are accepted by local haulers or drop stations in my county and recycle only those items.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

At Home

Choose Natural Clothing Fibers

I will purchase clothing made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers like polyester, nylon, acrylic or spandex.

COMPLETED 10

Read Plastic-Free Challenge emails

I will read through the three emails each week to learn more about plastic and get ideas on how to use less.

Make Green Cleaners

I will make  1 of my own cleaning products (cleaners, detergents, soaps) instead of buying them in new spray bottles each time.

Home made snacks are healthier and use less plastic. We purchased produce (not in plastic) and made our own fruit snacks, and packaged them in re-usable containers.

I might need to know more about this process! We have a food dehydrator but haven't used it yet (Christmas gift). I'd love to get some recipes!
