With Lis making bread daily now, we are saving plastic bags to store her sourdough loaves. We also invented in resealable bags, which are great in theory, but have failed. When we have used the resealable bags, the bread is hard and dry the following day.

Thankfully there are a few filling stations around town for our water jugs.

I change the oil in our vehicles and use empty laundry detergent bins for the used oil. Then I take to our local salvage yard and the used oil is the fuel to run the shop boiler/heater.

With six people in the house including 4 young men, we noticed many, many plastic body wash bottles. We made the choice to source bar soaps from local markets and small businesses rather than continuing buying more plastic bottles.

We started to save baggies to reuse now that Lis is making bread.
    Just wash out and reuse.

Very cool! Where did you purchase these? I will have to look into this. I have a bad habit of using single use plastic Ziploc bags and this has inspired me to seek out some reusable ones!

We have reusable bags around the house and in our cars. These are great to fill with our recycling and run out to the bin. Also are terrific when grocery shopping and then we don’t use 75 hundred plastic Walmart bags at checkout.

We have a daily chore at our house to empty the “recycling bag” and bring the recycleables to the bin

As a family with 4 boys, we were going through 4-5 packs of bottled water every week. This amounted to 160 - 200 plastic bottles EVERY WEEK. After some consideration, Lis found us a water dispenser in place of bottles. Now we go through about 4 of the 5 gallon refills each week. Same amount of water (40 x 16ou = 640 ounces; 5 gallon refill =640 ounces), and we have ended 160 - 200 plastic bottles every week to the bin.
