For lunch today: White Bean Chicken Chili, with sour cream, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, and Doritos Spicy Chili chips for toppings! 3 reusable containers were used thus avoiding wasted plastic packaging.

Starting pre-making egg bakes in cupcake pans for quick and easy b fast sandwiches throughout the week vs grabbing one at the gas station with disposable paper and foil wrapping. Saves money and avoids extra waste! I assume its a bit healthier too since there is less sodium, preservatives, and b fast meats/cheese and more eggs.

That's a great idea. I buy the costco ones but every one comes in a plastic wrapper and that drives me nuts... making my own seems much better.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Plastics 101 Avoid Harmful Plastics
Do some research on polystyrene and polyvinyl. How many items in your house already contain these toxins?

Lots of packaged items come with foam insulation. I am happy to see more creative uses of corrugated board to insulate and shockproof packages. Plastic film is less prevalent in my life. I have used it more permanently to insulate a crawl space where plumbing was present and I didn't need to heat the entire square footage.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    On-the-go Use Reusable Water Bottles
Can you think of any scenarios where using your own bottle is harder? How can you make sure not to get a disposable bottle in that case?

Events are a challenge when they focus on sales vs fountain/tap availability. I tend to pack more water bottles when there is a risk of this.
