Happy start of week two everybody! Looks like it should stay warmer this week, so let's hope that's accurate.

Last year I took my lamp to a fix-it event. The chain had broken, and they showed me how to open it up to remove the broken part and replace it. The same thing just happened with a different lamp that has the same chain mechanism, so I was able to repair it on my own this time.

My glass smoothie container has a hairline crack in it. I don't want to go back to plastic, but I need a better non-breakable material, one that can hold up to the extreme cold as well...

Which documentary did you choose to watch? What did you learn?

I watched several on the circulation of secondhand clothing and how much of it is sent overseas, to either be sold or throw in landfills. All available through Youtube search results.

Makes me sad to see good clothes thrown into landfills 😔

I use old torn clothes in my crafts and turn them into dog toys, picture frames, ornaments, coasters......endless ideas! 😀

What are the benefits of a sharing economy? How has joining a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with the stuff you use and with your friends, family and/or neighbors?

The most concrete benefits are that it keeps items in circulation and out of landfill for longer, and also saves on money, time, and space. It makes you more aware of the resource cost of each individual item, fighting back against throwaway culture. It also promotes community, both in the sharing mentality and just in getting to know your community members.

I love thrifting for homegoods, media, and textiles when I need them. Keeps them in circulation and out of the landfill, and thats where you find the really fun and unique pieces!

Depends where you're located. Most thrift or vintage stores show up with those terms on Google maps.

What maintenance steps do you take to keep your electronics in good working order?

Battery protection, regular cache clearing, keeping them out of extreme heat or cold and away from moisture, googling issues when they arise to troubleshoot myself, etc.

What's everybodys favorite water bottles, that don't utilize lead during manufacturing or sealing?
