REUSE TRASH BAGS BEFORE PURCHASING NEW

I will reuse existing bags such as pet food bags, grocery bags, or online shopping bags to line my trash bins (or go without plastic liners) and offset using as many new bags as possible.

What are the hardest scenarios for you to avoid using bottled water? How have you been able to avoid purchasing water in these situations?

Usually when I'm on the go or with friends and we stop at a gas station or something. I can be very prone to grabbing a bottle but I've started to try and bring a refillable wherever I go, and even if I do use a plastic bottle I reuse as well so I'm not using any more plastic

What are some things you can do to avoid using plastic bottles and plastic caps in the first place?

Try using reusable bottles or even reusing the plastic bottles, which will help reduce plastic use overall

Great point! It’s definitely better to reuse a plastic water bottle than just throwing it away, but it’s even better to avoid using one in the first place. Unfortunately, sometimes the situation can’t be helped, so it’s also a good idea to consider investing in a water filter and glass cups for home use—especially if the tap water isn’t safe in your area.

Why do you think Styrofoam is still so common despite what we know about its health effects? How do you think we can collectively move away from using it?

I think it's so common because of the cost to make. We need to find a new, natural way to make a form of natural Styrofoam that costs about the same to make or even cheaper.

I consistently use a phone case and screen protector to avoid major damage to my phone's hardware. I almost never get a new phone unless i absolutely have to
