  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Why do you think these products have so much plastic packaging? Who is the plastic packaging really serving -- the consumer, the producer, or someone else?

I think the plastic bags are really serving the ones who make them. They make a lot of money making those bags when I think people could bring in their own reusable bags to prevent more plastic bags being used.

What are the hardest scenarios for you to avoid using bottled water? How have you been able to avoid purchasing water in these situations?

I'd say the toughest situation would have to be when I am traveling or when I'm outside and do not have access to refill stations. I always carry around a reusable water bottle no matter where I am at. This saves money and also helps the environment buy completely avoiding using plastic bottles in general.

What has been your experience using a reusable pooper-scooper? How are caring for your pet and caring for the environment connected for you?

I've been using one ever since we adopted our dogs and me and my family find it way more dependable than a plastic bag mainly because it is easier to use. Caring for my dogs and the environment has always been important to me because when I'm taking care of my dogs and cleaning up for them, I'm also helping other ecosystems survive and thrive without the people being the problem.

Me and my family use a mini vacuum everyday on our hard wood floor, couches, chairs, and carpet due to the amount of shedding my dogs due and we sometimes use a broom sized brush to get the stuff the vacuum cannot get as easily.
