I will read through the three emails each week to learn more about plastic and get ideas on how to use less.
The numbers #1-7 on plastics tell us a lot and can help us be better recyclers. I will learn more about what the symbols on plastics mean.
I will watch a documentary film about plastic waste with family and friends and talk about what we learned.
Instead of trashing them, I will recycle 2 plastic bags per day bringing them to a drop-off or special pickup
I will recycle 1 plastic caps per day by placing them back on the plastic bottles before placing them in my recycling bin.
I will ditch the zippered plastic bags for food storage and switch to reusable containers.
I will use reusable containers when freezing food and opt for glass or metal when purchasing new containers.
I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
I will avoid sending 1 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own collapsible cup.
I will swap out my single-use plastic bags for a pooper-scooper to clean up in my yard.
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
