Brandon's actions
Food
Cook Meals with Zero Plastic Waste
I will prepare 2 meal(s) at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.
Food
Buy Unpackaged Produce
I will avoid 8 plastic bags each shopping trip by not bagging my produce or using reusable produce bags.
Food
Swap the Snacks
I will swap 4 prepackaged snacks for unpackaged fruits or veggies or homemade or bulk items each time we need more.
At Home
WASH COLD, LINE DRY
I will wash my clothing in cold water and hang it to dry to reduce the amount of microplastic shedding and to prolong the life of my garments.
Plastics 101
Recycle Plastic Caps
I will recycle 4 plastic caps per day by placing them back on the plastic bottles before placing them in my recycling bin.
Food
Ditch the Baggie
I will ditch the zippered plastic bags for food storage and switch to reusable containers.
At Home
Plan a Garden
I will plan an herb or vegetable garden for next year at my home, workplace, or community garden.
At Home
Make Green Cleaners
I will make 3 of my own cleaning products (cleaners, detergents, soaps) instead of buying them in new spray bottles each time.
Pets
Buy Bulk Kitty Litter
I will purchase bulk cat litter where I can refill and keep using the same container.
Pets
Invest in a Pooper-Scooper
I will swap out my single-use plastic bags for a pooper-scooper to clean up in my yard.

I think this weekend will be nice enough to go through the garage and finally get rid of all the old recycling, most of it is cans I've been collecting over the winter. Should have a nice return...-

What is a good alternative for cat litter, not really a fan of traditional litter.-
Demi Turner 2/21/2025 8:41 AM- 17-DAY STREAK
Pretty litter was a good alternative health wise for our cat. It's less dusty, and helps with the odor. The litter changes color depending on urine acidity too to help identify health problems quicker. Downside is that it comes in a plastic bag at the moment... -

We had an outdoor sandbox all the cats in the neighborhood used it! LOL Sorry kids you are no longer allowed to play in the sandbox. Sorry I am no help for the indoor cat solution. -

- Continue to buy products with the least amount of plastic possible.
- Reuse as much of the types of plastic that can be reused that we already have.
- Advocate to manufacturers, stores and government officials to support efforts to reduce plastic.

Careful buying of personal care products looking for glass, metal and last choice, recyclable plastic packaging. Reducing my purchasing overall. Asking businesses to provide/make better choices for the environment. Composting. Continue cold water wash. Continue bringing my own reusable takeout coffee tumbler and reusable metal water bottle. Reduce takeout meals. Pick up plastic litter. -
