Zach Kyllonen 2/06/2026 9:07 AMI agree, I think using reusable bags in general are better for the environment anyways and using different material bags can help with that.

Adriana's actions
Plastics 101
Recycle Plastic Bags
Instead of trashing them, I will recycle 5 plastic bags per day bringing them to a drop-off or special pickup
At Home
REUSE TRASH BAGS BEFORE PURCHASING NEW
I will reuse existing bags such as pet food bags, grocery bags, or online shopping bags to line my trash bins (or go without plastic liners) and offset using as many new bags as possible.
At Home
Skip the Dryer Sheets
I will replace dryer sheets with a reusable alternative or use nothing at all.
On-the-go
Pack a Lunch
I will skip eating out and bring a lunch from home in reusable containers.
Personal Care
Switch to a natural loofah or wash cloth
I will replace my synthetic loofah with a natural loofah or wash cloth.
On-the-go
Use A Reusable Mug or Cup
I will avoid sending 2 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own collapsible cup.
On-the-go
Use Reusable Water Bottles
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 3 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.
At Home
Swap Sponges for Longer Lasting Reusable Options
I will ditch the sponge and use a reusable or compostable option such as a brush, scrubber or dishrag instead.
On-the-go
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases, including produce bags.

REFLECTION QUESTIONOn-the-goHow difficult was this action for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Adriana Torres 2/04/2026 9:05 AMIt wasn't as difficult as I expected. The only thing is bringing groceries inside took longer than expected, therefore I will remember to bring reusable bags to make it easier for myself. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOn-the-goGreat job on getting rid of your disposable cup habit! How does it make you feel? Are there any situations where you still struggle to use a reusable mug?
Adriana Torres 2/04/2026 9:03 AMI feel great knowing I'm doing something good. I wouldn't say struggle, but I did almost forget my mug!-

REFLECTION QUESTIONAt HomeHow difficult (or easy!) has it been for you to cut dryer sheets from your laundry routine?
Adriana Torres 2/02/2026 10:57 AMThe first time cutting that was hard since it was such a habit, but now it's like a skip an extra step and finish quicker in a way.-
Isaiah Jorgenson 2/05/2026 8:06 AMIt was also hard for me right away to cut dryer sheets, however I got used to it and actually prefer it without dryer sheets.

REFLECTION QUESTIONOn-the-goWhat are some of the unexpected benefits of bringing your own lunch?
Adriana Torres 2/02/2026 10:55 AMI was able to enjoy my lunch and didn't feel rushed to eat it because I had plenty of time. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONOn-the-goCan you think of any scenarios where using your own bottle is harder? How can you make sure not to get a disposable bottle in that case?
Adriana Torres 2/01/2026 7:20 PMHonestly it's hard when you forget your water bottle at home and you're on the go and get thirsty. Your instinct is to purchase a plastic water bottle. I do think having an extra water bottle in your car is key for situations like that. -
Adriana Torres 1/24/2026 12:56 PMThis morning I remembered while doing my laundry not to use drying sheets. It felt weird just because I'm so used to using them but it felt good doing something good! -
Adriana Torres 1/20/2026 4:45 PMToday I used my reusable water bottle throughout the day, and it felt really good! no more plastic water bottles.-
Reham Kassab 1/20/2026 9:36 PMMe too! It feels way better to cut down on the plastics, and the water stays colder for longer as well!

Adriana Torres 1/19/2026 12:17 PMToday I decided to use my own personal mug instead of a plastic one.
