February 10 at 6:53 PMMy plastic-free challenge is going well! I have been able to make easy changes to my lifestyle in order to cease my use of single-use plastics. By doing this, I fell better about my impact on the Earth.

February 10 at 6:51 PMI have definitely noticed a change in my community. Stores and coffee shops are no longer putting out plastic straws, and my local grocery store has started charging people for each straw taken. Today, I went to Target and bought a 3 pack of glass straws for $3. By using these straws instead of plastic straws at the grocery store, I can lessen...

February 10 at 6:49 PMGetting rid of this habit feels good! However, it’s hard to keep up with, as disposable cups are everywhere. Caribou coffee, work, and even at home. However, by making my coffee at home and using my ceramic mugs, I can alleviate this issue.

February 7 at 3:51 PMMy plastic-free challenge is going really well! I went to the grocery store today and managed to replace single-use plastics with cardboard and paper supplies instead. Instead of placing apples and other produce into plastic bags, I brought my own! It’s in this simple way that I can make a difference on the planet.

February 7 at 3:47 PMSome single use plastics I have in my cupboard include muffin wrappers, plastic cereal bags, and more. Alternatives to these might be freshly baked muffins in cardboard from the grocery store, or Quaker Oats from a recycled box. If I switched every single use plastic to something reusable or recyclable, I would produce much less waste.
-
February 7 at 3:45 PMSwapping out prepackaged snacks and replacing them with fruits and veggies benefits my household by creating healthier eating choices. Instead of carby foods, I can pick up an apple or an orange and snack on that instead.
-
February 7 at 3:42 PMSome benefits of recycled, bamboo, or wood toothbrushes include less plastic waste, more sustainably sourced materials, and less concern about plastic getting into your body. I can get others to make this change by recommending toothbrushes that aren’t single use plastics, and by showing them the affects of plastic on the earth.
-
February 7 at 3:40 PMSome great benefits for using reusable products include healthier skin, better company sourcing, and the knowledge that microplastics aren’t clogging pores or getting into your body.
-
February 7 at 3:37 PMAlthough my products achieve the same outcome, I feel as if the products I’m putting on my skin are safer, and more earth-friendly!
