Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Pets
Does making your own pet treats seem like a habit you can keep up in the long term? What else can you do to reduce your use of plastic packaging that can come from taking care of your pet's needs?

I've been wanting to try DIY dog treats for awhile, and what better excuse to try than celebrating my pup's Gotcha Day. I made dog-bone shaped cookie treats using pumpkin, peanut butter, and whole wheat flour. She seems to like them!

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Do an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some low-waste or reusable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable? Are there any items where it would be difficult to avoid plastic waste?

Fruits and vegetables often come prepackaged in plastic bags, bins, tough for softer fruit to be purchased as the packaging protects the fruit in transit. Buying less has been a strategy.

What are the hardest scenarios for you to avoid using bottled water? How have you been able to avoid purchasing water in these situations?

In a 200F sauna when you forgot a water bottle. Used the good ole cupped hand method.
