My challenge is going great. I used reuseable containers to give leftover food to my friends. I think twice about grabbing for a plastic bag when I can use a reuseable container instead.

I tried Ecos laundry sheets and my clean laundry was nice smelling and seemed as clean as when I used liquid detergent. I plan to purchase more of them.

I used my metal straw for drinking pop at the movie theater yesterday. One less straw for the landfill!

I have learned once you start using a reusable water bottle, it becomes habitual. Like anything, the more you do something, the more it sticks to you. FYI - every cub foods, and many other stores, including Target have drinking fountains where you can fill your reusable water bottle. The best part - the fountain water is generally very cold and...

It is not going good. Plastic is everywhere. Until companies stop producing plastic, or until they start utilizing corn biodegradable plastic, nothing will change in my opinion. Let's not forget that over 90% of all plastic recycled is not actually recycled. I will keep tyrying, but gol dang it - it feels impossible.

When I am out walking the dog I pick up plastic items and other trash so it doesn't go into the sewer system and to keep the neighborhood clean.

How can I continue to decrease my plastic consumption? I try to pay attention to the waste and try to use reusable containers whenever possible.

I always try to reach for a reusable container before going to a plastic bag to keep leftovers. I have containers that are almost 40 years old and are still serviceable!
