Lots of coffee shops will just give you a paper cup automatically, and sometimes even if you say "for here". I find it helpful to ask what sizes they have for here and then order. That usually is enough of a push that they'll actually use a for here cup.

I've had good luck finding board games and some kid toys used, as long as I don't have a very specific or new item in mind. It is hardest to find specific clothing items (especially pants that fit, when you're short). Clothing seasonality can be frustrating - for example, when my kiddos need new winter clothes/mittens, etc. in February but...

Wow, that was easy! I rarely go to the Co-op for lunch, but I needed something healthy to eat in the car. Got a sandwich and salad....in plastic. Didn't think about it twice. I've got a lot of awareness to build. :O
