Became much more conscious of the types items being discarded in landfills and/or burned and have changed numerous habits accordingly. Have encouraged others to do the same.

I have been using microfiber cleaning cloths instead of disposable wipes. Yes! I am really satisfied with the results.

I'm sad this is over but thankful for the new information I learned over the month. I carried this plastic challenge forward with me from 2024 > 2025 and expect to do it again 2025 > 2026! One thing I want to do is contact some local reps and figure out who/why/where/what we can do about car accidents and getting the Earth picked up after one. It's been a fun month! Thank you, Hennepin County, for putting this on again! See you next year!!

This has been a great challenge to learn about new methods to reduce my plastic consumption. I am eliminating plastic like tupperware for storing food, getting rid of non-stick cookware to eliminate BPA consumption and talking to my friends about how they can reduce their plastic use. It's made a difference!!! Keep the learning going.

In what ways is supplying your pet with all natural pet toys better for your pet, better for you, and better for the environment?

Natural pet toys keep the chemicals away from your pet. You never know what impact chemicals will have on their bodies, so I err on the cautious side.

It's healthier, if ingested by mistake. I think the break down in the plastics would be more harmful to our pets long term.

What items do you keep in your kit? What steps have you taken to help make this a habit and remember to bring your kit with you?

I have a small box with knife, fork, spoon, chopsticks and a cloth napkin that I bring with me daily. IT's easy to keep in my lunch bag and use daily to eat at work.

This challenge has also been a good reminder that (my) small steps can have big, positive actions over time. One thing I participate in daily is Help Us Free The Ocean of Plastic, each day you answer the trivia question you'll help remove one piece of plastic from the ocean and coastlines. www.freetheocean.com

Have you ever bought products from them? I love the lip balm, coconut scrubbers, and toothbrush from them.

In the middle of a kitchen renovation in our 1904 house, and this challenge has really made me think about the product materials that will be used. For starters, getting close to removing that old acrylic sink to be replaced with a fireclay.

I ran out of plastic wrap yesterday and instead of picking up more at the store, I bought a roll of reusable beeswax wrap and a small Stasher bag to replace the small bags I have been using to bring my snack mix to work in each day. Trying to replace things with more sustainable options as I work my way through what I have on hand. Small steps, right?
