A good eye-opener this month to look at my own and my family's plastic use and ways it can be reduced.

I love fresh and home grown over store bought and I love to wander the farmer's markets to find things that I have not tried before or for things I can freeze and enjoy throughout the year. This year I attended the Minnesota Horticultural Society's week-long webinar on gardening from the soil up. It was a great foundation to understand how...

Today's topic on homemade cleaners was inspiring and easy to do. I am going to make that transition as I use up existing cleaners!

I love the Stasher silicone bags . I must have a dozen or more, all shapes and sizes. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store. Usually in April, Earth month, some or all are on sale.

This is actually one of the easier items for me as I typically make soups and stews and other items over the winter months and freeze portions in re-usable containers. Bags are smaller - so they don't fit my waste basket, but am to partially hold them on the top edge of the basket. I tie them when full and just put another on top which helps hold the 2nd bag in place. I am curious which option is better - reuse bags from the store or avoid getting any bags from the store and using purchased trash bags?
